This is the kitchen, haha. El nopal is a type of cactus used in Mexican cuisine. They are flat looking things.. So not the one shown in the picture below.


The lady kept asking me me order in Spanish.. I didn't understand her accent very well.. Sigh, Spanish is still quite difficult..

Went to see Cirque du Soleil's Corteo with E tonight. Spectacular. Beautiful. Amazing. All my friends know that I love this company. I am awed by their shows, the talent, my eyes fixed, my mouth in goofy grin, from ear to ear. So much training they must have gone through, the suspense of the physical feats they achieve. They make it look so easy, how I wish I could fly in the air like that, as if weightless; their beautifully taut sculpted bodies.

It was a mission getting there, actually. Got off at a station that was further off from our destination than we'd anticipated, did several loops, crossing through big roads and bridges. Haha, it was a mad circus the way we ran about trying to find our way, even before the show started. I was worried we would be very late, but thankfully we got there just on time. So glad I decided not to miss it. So worth the price. Don't think I'll ever miss another. Wonder when they are next coming to NZ, and which show will they be doing ? My dream show to see is Ô, one of the permanent shows in Las Vegas. Dream.

Dessert was pretty good, though.


Drinks a bit pricey.


J decided on coffee.


Enjoyed the company I was with, at least. Last good times together for a while. See you again, soon, A :)

Made a wonderfully delish brekkie pie inspired from a Kiwi food blog Our Kitchen. I changed a few things around, such as tuna instead of bacon, and cheese chunks instead of grating them. It's hard to find bacon in France, and they are expensive. I couldn't be bothered to grate the cheese. The cheese I used was salers, which is kind of like comté, one of my faves, but it's crumblier and softer. Thanks S for recommending it!

So I bought a flaky pastry sheet and halved it. My microwave/oven is not that big so this was about the right size. Chopped onions, placed tuna and cheese pieces as shown. Made wells for the eggs.
